Monday Music Mambo: Guitar Man

Rfduck, mememeister of the Monday Music Mambo, took a moment from his busy day, rooting through old LP's in search of an elusive guitar lick to say, “Hi everyone! Today we're going to talk about Guitarists on the Mambo.”

1. Name three of your favorite guitarists.
Eric Clapton, John Fahey and Leo Kottke come immediately to mind.
2. Do you have a favorite guitar solo? What is it?
Probably Kottke's "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring" (J.S. Bach) is my favorite acoustic lick.
3. What's your favorite style of guitar playing?
A classical finger-picking style, such as Segovia's, because it allows the musician to play long enough to become a true master. Kottke, and, to a lesser extent, Fahey have both suffered tendonitis that nearly ruined their careers, until they changed their style of picking.
4. Do you know how to play the guitar?
No, not really. I can pick out a few tunes and do the classic rock chords, but I never "clicked" with the guitar, despite a raging urge to do so in my early teens.

If you want to play along, visit the Monday Mambo blog site, BD Insanity, and grab the questions there. Leave a link in the comments to your answers so the rest of us can find them.
