- Well past (by at least a decade) the half century mark. One foot in the grave, the other on a banana peel at the rim of the abyss and the view from here is disconcerting. I am a former student, pearl diver, cook, truck driver, firefighter, EMT, CEO, Town Fire Warden, mechanic, oiler, marine engineer and computer whiz bang. Mostly I sleep these days in an aluminum tube. And So It Goes... I waste my time reading blogs and kvetching about the weather, playing with our Schipperke sidekick, Ignatz McGraw and waiting hand by foot upon my wife, the Queen of our Hovel, She Who Must Be Obeyed (SWMBO).

Gotta say, I'm confused, Wil. Most people winter down south and come back up north for the summer. You seem to do the opposite. Sucker for punishment?
I have thought that same thing! If you're living in a camper, why not go to Texas????

Judy, not as cold here as it was in DC or northern Texas this morning. Wait a day or two, it'll change.
Paul and Donna, I have obligations to my wife to deal with loose ends in my life which force me to be here. I have no desire to ever spend the months of November through April in Maine ever again. This the last time, trust me on that... I'd rather be dead than winter in New England. And I have no desire to be dead, either.

My bed here is plenty big enough for us. Tie up those loose ends and you can be warm TOO!
I am off to shave my legs as a southern girl must be presentable to wear shorts....it is awfully warm here honey!!!
