I forgot to mention

Some folks are afraid that donations to many organizations will not make it their intended recipients. Well, that's understandable. Right now, the Justice Department is investigating Pat Robertson for co-mingling of funds from his ministries and disaster relief efforts with his personal funds (and not to the benefit of disaster victims, either).

Here's an organization that tells it like it is. They only do disaster relief. They spend 75% of donations for disaster relief -- the remaining goes to paying the salaries of the coordinators in the 8 regions and maintaining stockpiles of tools and equipment to respond to disasters. They aren't in it to help their fellow man. Oh, and they maintain a list of materials and equipment they accept for donations, if sending money via the Internet isn't your thing...
