The Sunday Brunch

Erica (sole proprietor of The Sunday Brunch) is so confused sometimes ... in this week's email, she wrote as though THIS weekend is Memorial Day weekend. Silly goose!

"The murals in restaurants are on par with the food in museums." -Peter DeVries

1) Do you enjoy eating out and why? Yep -- it's a break from cooking and I do ALL the cooking.

2) Where is your favorite restaurant? The
Muddy Rudder.

3) What are your standards for tipping?
Fifteen percent for average service, more when someone goes out of her way to accommodate our needs, less for poor attitude or nonexistent service and 10% for buffets.

4) Do you have one entree, appetizer or dessert that you specifically go out to get at a restaurant from time to time?
Yes, Toll House Cookie Pie.

5) Describe a horrific experience that you had while dining out.
In general, I haven't had a horrific experience dining out. I have been refused service on a few occasions, mostly in the South and Midwest, where my appearance is even more out-of-the-norm than here in New England. That's their loss.

There was the time that one of the young women in our party got a bit more than tipsy (sloshed is a fair approximation) and proceeded to climb onto the table, perform a disastrous striptease which ended with her falling into my arms with naught but a pair of panties on ... but I wouldn't call that horrific. Embarrassing, perhaps.

Have a great week, cover up in the direct sunlight and avoid mosquito bites, ticks and other nasties.
