Saturday Six #25: Potpourri

Each Saturday, the "Television Producer formerly known as Patrick" provides a half-dozen questions on his blog, Patrick’s Place. These serve as a starting point for exposition, great or small, depending on the question and one’s inclination. This week’s offering runs the gamut of trust, memory, hygeine, poetry -- a potpourri of questions, if you will. Let’s get started! My answers are in red:
1. Which of the following do you trust more: a politician, a televangelist, a lawyer, a reporter, or a doctor?
A politician. You just know s/he is lying.

2. What's the last song you liked enough that you actually took the time to look up the lyrics?
Something by Lyle Lovett... I don’t recall the title anymore. It was about a resistance fighter, I think. It was many years ago.

3. Which deceased relative would you most like to spend one more afternoon with?
My mother. She died suddenly, without any warning until minutes before the very end that she was dying. We were hundreds of miles away.

4. What is your preferred brand for: a) toothpaste, b) soap, c) shampoo, d) laundry detergent.
a) Crest
b) Irish Spring
c) Suave
d) Era

5. What is your favorite poem?
Lawrence Ferlinghetti’s "Christ Climbed Down"

6. READER'S CHOICE QUESTION #25 from Tara: How did your parents select your first name? Were you named after a particular friend/relative/fictional character or did they just like the name?
I was named after my paternal grandfather and great grandfather on my paternal grandmother’s side of the family tree. It took care of a whole bunch of familial piety with one fell swoop.

Have a great weekend, folks. Buckle up and make sure you pay attention to the road while driving - the life you save just might be mine.
