MEME: Monday Music Mambo - Love Songs

Mememeister RFDuck took a moment from his labors photographing all of the buildings on the University of Oregon campus to say, “Hello world! Here's another mambo for your enjoyment. Today is Great Lover's Day.”

1. Name three of your favorite love songs.
This isn't my favorite category of songs, so bear with me. First thoughts turn to traditional songs, such as Fair Ellender or Danny Boy. More modern songs include Nat King Cole's Unforgettable and Mona Lisa. It'll be interesting to see what a whippersnapper, such as Mememeister RFDuck, has to offer from the perspective of one with his musical roots in the nineties.
2. Name three musicians well-known for making great love songs.
Paul McCartney, John Denver and Nat King Cole; Joni Mitchell, Judy Collins, Yolanda Bevan come to mind on the distaff side.
3. Name a song that's so good you'd write a love song for it (if it were an actual person). And tell us why.
Oh, my. Where to begin? No one is likely to ask me to write a love song to a love song, even at my rock-bottom rates! (I lack the requisite romantic genes for the job)

If it weren't already so smarmy, I suspect that Paul McCartney's Michelle from the Beatle's 1965 album “Rubber Soul” would fit the bill. It has the distinction, according to BMI, of being “the 42nd-most performed song of the 20th century” according to the Wikipedia article on the song. It is just so sweet and evocative of innocent love, puppy love that I can't help myself. If only the world were so simple!

The rules are, there are no rules!!! All you need to do is copy and paste the above questions into your blog and add your responses. After you've finished, return here and leave us a comment so we'll know you've Mamboed. Be sure your Mambo is linked back to http://bdinsanity.blogdrive.com so others can dance too.

Remember, there are no right or wrong answers. If one of the questions doesn't inspire you then simply "pass" it. Just use your imagination and dance like crazy!

If you don't have a blog or you're an exhibitionist *woo hoo* feel free to Mambo right here in our comments section. There's absolutely no pressure ... although it's called the Monday Music Mambo you can Mambo on any day.

Until next time, this is your music-lovin' Mememeister saying have a good Monday and a good Mambo!
